I slept very badly, even with two Tylenol PM tablets. Annabelle tolerated my restlessness and stayed with me the entire night. Thatch and Stella stayed until my restlessness drove them up the wall.

My last attempt to have a bath was rather precarious: I slipped and nearly fell, the rack I hold onto while I'm getting my legs over the edge of the tub did not want to remain steady. I emerged from the bath terrified. Well, today I have to undergo the process again, and I am very concerned about falls. I could use a lot of vibes.

DR George, if that egg salad is more than three-four days old, I would approach it with caution. About ten years ago, on - I believe - the CBS News, a food person gave a short Thanksgiving lecture on Thanksgiving leftovers and how long to keep them in the fridge. Then she went on to talk about items like ytna salad and other items. It was rather scary,

Awaiting the text that they have everything ordered in stock, and can then know what lunch will be accordingly.  Some days, knowing what lunch will be makes a difference.

Planning out the day's calories feels productive, even though often violating that calorie count by the end of the day.

Maybe strawberry is "in" these days, at least here on HHW.  Amazon Fresh offered (and I bought) strawberry coffee creamer, which I'd never seen before.  It sounded like it might be exotic to have strawberry flavor in the coffee.  It's just very tasty without being exotic at all.

DR George, additional thanks for the link to the MET Gala for Rudolf Bing.

I watched it live at a friend's house somewhere in Cleveland Heights, and bought the Deutsche Grammophon LP as soon as it was issued. Yes, I still have it.

It's amazing to think that the telecast was never preserved in any professional way, and I believe this version, while close, is still not complete. But how great to see and hear those incredible singers who [a few of us of a certain age] knew and took for granted.

I have another silly "does anyone have this?" music question, and I know it's a long shot.
Here's a Sinatra/Basie arrangement of "I Only Have Eyes For You":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjkN7SY_A1o

Is there any chance in HELL that a transcription of this arrangement exists? I don't care if it's ridiculously complex or simplified sheet music, as long as it more or less captures this arrangement. Anything will be of help. Otherwise, I'll be stumbling my way through approximating it myself, and that may not be a pretty sight.

First ice cream was probably chocolate ice cream at Howard Johnson's. They had 28 flavors before Baskin-Robbins 3-upped them with 31.

Although when Baskin-Robbins unveiled 32nd Flavor, that became my favorite for a while. A Heath bar / toffee kind of flavor, if I recall correctly.

Chocolate's still my favorite flavor, preferably a high-quality dark chocolate. Jeni's Darkest Chocolate is great for store-bought.

Fruit sorbets in season are great. Chocolate chip in most all its varieties (vanilla, chocolate, mint, cherry) are nice change-of-pace flavors.

That would have been their English Toffee ice cream.  When we first moved to Ashland I purchased a half tub of this since it had been years between their carrying it.  Alas it seems to be gone for good.

I love the Mexican ice cream shops we have here with flavors like Gansito and rompopo. The coffee tastes like an iced cafe au lait. The pine nut is delicious. I also like the key lime pie with buttery strands of graham crackers crumbs in a creamy lime base.

Back from a decent final dress - no real audience, just us and designers. The big issues were energy at the top of the show - very low - and then establishing the tone instantly - if we don't let the audience know it's okay to laugh, it's a rough road ahead - but that's more difficult than it sounds because the subject matter is not funny - it's the delivery and quirky that's funny and last night they didn't let us know what - they have before, so we'll now get that back.

Thanks for the warning, Larry, but I looked...and shouldn't have. :o
