Well, you've read the notes, the notes said the Do is Done and wished everyone a Merry Christmas, and now it is time for you to post until the Christmas Cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: JOLLITY!

Glad your Do was mostly successful, BK!
-
Merry Christmas to all who dig it!
-
Just finished tiptoeing around, putting out a modest array of goodies for the young Rodzes. Very nervewracking as there's no place to hide if a youngster appeared, but they were sufficiently snoozed.
-
Sorry the Do was marred by no shows and hand issues, but it sounded like fun nonetheless.
-
Christmas Eve here, Mrs R cooked way too much so I was forced to overeat, but that’s holidays for ya. We played some games, listened to some Xmas LPs, and watched the Australian LEGO Masters series on Tubi until the kids passed out. Then I Santa’d, and maybe I’ll get sleepy soon.

So fabulous!

The cats and I had a very quiet evening. I was in bed by 8:00, with the alarm set for 4:45. I remembered one dream. I had an appointment for an eye exam at NYU, so I took the subway down to the Village. At 42nd Street, the subway turned into the express, so I got off at the next stop, and called the NYU School of Medecine to get the address. I spoke to a very arrogant man who told me the address I wanted was West 95th Street, so I needed to reschedule. My cell phone fliptop broke, so I was trying to juggle it, write down the pertinent information, while this jerk on the phone kept telling me how rude and unprepared I was.
-
Now that I am on my first cuppa coffee, I have a pile of Christmas cards to open. Then kitty cleanup, and off to work on High Spirits. I have no idea what I will have for dinner, but it will be completely unspectacular.
-
I wish everyone of you DRs a completely spectacular day filled with good friends, good times, and good food.
-
BK, the Do sounds like a success, and I'm sure everyone who attanded had a fantastic time.
-
DR Laura, do you know this book?
-
Merry Christmas!
-
I do not know that book, Elmore. Thanks for the recommendation.
-
I think we should bring back "Lo!" and "Behold!" into common usage.
-
Rodzinski is the only one of us here who has littles in the house. I remember those days. I'm looking forward to the report.
-
Glad the Do went well. I'm sorry the weather changed folks' plans.
-
BK, so glad for your successful Do, and sending more health vibes!
-
TOD: My own time was really Hannukah, which I was happy to celebrate with others online. By the fourth to fifth day. it becomes ("Oh, OK, The candle is lit another day, OK ..." :) )
Skip went to a lovely Christmas Eve cocktail party last night, and we'll celebrate Christmas Day here with a Berkshire bone-in roasted pork dinner, with dressing, and green beans and Grand Marnier cranberry relish.
-
Good morning, all.

And a Merry Christmas to alla yez.

LOL, I remember wrapping all the gifts from Santa late at night and way past my bedtime :)

Santa’s visit a success. Mrs Rodz is always shocked at how quickly it goes after her months of planning. The kids tore through and are happy. Lot of Hello Kitty and K-Pop Demon Hunters items. And Legos.

Oh, no! So glad you're OK now.

I did have a can of San Pellegrino sparkling water - the kind with some fruit juice added in. I think that may have been the culprit.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
-
Sorry that I was in such a state - but to be clear the DO was fun - lots and lots of laughs despite my wonky voice and hand - food was good and lots was eaten and good cheer.
-
Just before I went to bed, it began raining - pretty hard - for exactly, and I mean exactly two minutes. That was the storm of the century these nitwits have been promising. I can't say it's a sunny day out, but the sun was peeking out and it sure doesn't look like rain and today and tomorrow were supposed to be the panic days.
-
I'm sure all the no-shows will be wherever they're supposed to be today.
-
Darling Daughter will be here at noon and hopefully the drive will not be filled with traffic. Had this storm actually happened I wouldn't have allowed her to drive here.

I had no plans for dinner; Jen is in Italy with her brothers, Ann was, until yesterday, in Boston with her dad and fearing she had Covid again, and Joshie is in Vermont with his family. So, I was going to find something in the fridge or pantry. This morning Ann showed up to say hello. She and her dad drove down yesterday ro have dinner today with her sister.
-
So, Ann just showed up with turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and turkey for me, all from her sister's dinner party and all quite deelish! And all a completely unexpected surprise.
-
I finished my workload today by 12:30. I have tomorrow and Saturday to finish the last number. I expect more from Joshie next week.

Every year the royal family does a Christmas walk and fans hand them presents. This year Prince William was handed a giant Lindt chocolate ball for seven year old Louis. Here he is hanging on to his chocolate ball.

Crazy day.

The Darling Daughter and I had a splendidly splendid visit - and thankfully the hand behaved splendidly as well. We had some spaghetti and tuna pasta salad, and she agreed the sauce was the best it's been. Also, a chocolate donut. She gave me the usual scratchers, the last of which was a winner for fifteen bucks.
-
I also opened the two gifts I got hast night - couldn't believe it - from Amy and Mark a book about classical music recordings AND a gift card for Capital Grill! And Robert Yacko gave me a gift card for the Smoke House. Good eatin' ahead, baby.
-
I'll have some more tuna pasta salad later.
-
Done with the spaghetti.

Then we watched videos - she loves the videos from musicals that I've found - so, a few Tommy Tune things and I introduced her to pit maneuver videos and she's HOOKED.
-
She brought lots of her homemade goodies - lemon loaf, cherry loaf, pumpkin bread, cookies, and nutmeats.
-
She left about fifteen minutes ago to go visit her friend and then drive back to her mother's.

I told her NOT to drive back to her mom's if it's raining and she said she won't. But it has not been raining. I believe around one-thirty we had another twenty-second outburst.

I think I may have eaten a little too much food today.
-
I didn't mean to - it just happened.

There was not stopping it.
-
I watched Downton Abbey: the New Era, thinking it was the newest one. It wasn’t, and I’d seen it before, but I didn’t remember much (one of the advantages of aging) and I enjoyed it.
-
Tomorrow: back to the to-do list. Ugh!
But I’m glad I had a break.
-
Bruce, what did your doctors say about weight loss?
-
Did I mention that bk and I have the same neurologist? I saw him for the first time recently, after a 5-6 month wait. I told him I know Bruce. He asked how we met. I told him we met as teens. Then I thought he asked if I’d followed his career—at least I thought that’s what he asked. I said that we lost touch for a while, that I was working long hours and not watching TV. Later I realized that he might not know about Bruce’s career and my response would have made no sense. ☺️
-
I hope you all had a good holiday and don’t have to go back to work tomorrow.

Cranberry Curd tart, in case the printing is too small.
I want to try it. I have a jar of black currant curd.
-
I slept in this morning until 10:30. It was nice.
-
At noon, I joined Joy and her family for hot pot, which was delicious.
-
Then I went to my friend Gail’s sister’s place for luncheon number two. Turkey was surprisingly excellent. Green beans with bacon, a salad of avocado and grapefruit, cranberry sauces and more. I skipped the carbs.
-
Congratulations on your new roadblock, Freddie
-
Roadblock?
-
Desserts included a delicious figgy pudding with hard sauce, a homemade toffee of nuts, caramel and chocolate, cookies, a Cool Whip and chocolate pudding dish, and my apple scotch pie.
-
Then I headed to the Tobin for a free evening of comedy with Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias.
-
I am at Mom's , I temporarily took over 24 hour caretaking from brother who has been doing it since Halloween
-
To get in, you had to donate to the food bank. Reports say 30,000 pounds of food was donated, which Fluffy said should feed 19,000 people.
-
Vixdad moved Moms computer and big screen from the upstairs office to the diningroom table
-
And this morning I made tea, coffee znx blueberry muffins
-
The show was close to three hours and featured seven comedians before Fluffy took the stage. It was a great evening, but long.
-
Hi, Vixmom! Merry Christmas!
-
Time to move on …
-
Uno mas.
-
Eight!
-
Then at 10 am the Florida Vixfam 3 video called and we all had breakfast and chatted and opened our gifts together until after 1.
-
It was a lovely visit and everyone was very happy with their gifts
-
I was especially happy with Vixdad's gifts of tickets to see Chess on Broadway and a new set of knives ( and knife block)
-
Vixson was too young last year to really get into Christmas but he was delighted with it this year
-
After the call I started dinner prep
-
This year's menu:
Standing rib roast
Drunken mushrooms
Tiny steamed potatoes ( which spent 30 minutes ( while the roast was resting) roasting in the beef drippings
Peas
Cauliflower casserole
Turnips
-
Freddie i believe Skip taught me thd cooking method for the roast, 15 minutes at 500 then 10minutes per lb at 325
It was perfect, please thank him for me
-
Dessert wasassorted mini pastries
Eclairs
Napoleons
Creampuffs
Petitfours
-
And everything was lovely
