Well, you've read the notes, the notes were proofed, and now it is time for you to post until the proofing cows come home.

I'm here, Larry. I just haven't read the notes yet.
-
I slept in for 45 minutes after the alarm rang. Annabelle wanted to cuddle and get warm. Thatch did, too.

And the word of the day is: BOUFFAGE!
A nice Caesar Salad is my favorite source of bouffage.

Teaching African American Studies and Government today.
-
Well DR ELMORE someone should take a crack at it!
-
As I was reading the ending posts yesterday I saw a message of mine quoted by DR JANE and realized I had made a[nother] error.
The movie that David Nelson starred in was THE BIG CIRCUS not THE BI CIRCUS.
That Freud was a great doctor wasn't he?
-
Can anyone tell me what play my final line in the previous post was mostly stolen from....the thought is the same but it was phrased differently.

I am enjoying reading about DR MICHAEL G's scanning adventures.
It is nice to have physical evidence of one's past - generally speaking.
-
Good morning, all.
-
There is, indeed, nothing like a good scanning adventure.
-
THE BI CIRCUS.
That Freud was a great doctor wasn't he?
with the theme song "I've looked at clowns from both sides now"

Can anyone tell me what play my final line in the previous post was mostly stolen from....the thought is the same but it was phrased differently.
Sounds like it should have been in Doris Day and Rock Hudson's LOVER COME BACK, but now I'll go google
-
On the morning that DR Elmore is looking for the early birds, I'm getting started here later than usual!
-
The TOD will have to be addressed later, when I have some idea what this evening and the weekend hold. I do have a few things set out to be watched, but I forget what they are.
More coffee!!
-
Can anyone tell me what play my final line in the previous post was mostly stolen from....the thought is the same but it was phrased differently.
Google tells me you've mentioned it as by Moss Hart in earlier HHW postings.
-
LOL DR FREDDIE yes indeed it should.
And yes, I guess I am repeating myself.
It is indeed a mashup of a line from LIGHT UP THE SKY by Moss Hart.
-
The main actress in the play that is trying to get on with its out of town tryout [based they say on Gertrude Lawrence] is not happy with her part in the play - which takes place after the atomic destruction of the world.
Her first complaint is that her costumes are too drab....it is the end of world, but would it hurt to have a little color and decoration here and there.
-
She then wakes up and describes a dream she had. She was onstage and suddenly she was saying her lines and everyone else's lines. She couldn't shut up. She talked and acted out the entire play herself while her fellow actors stood dumbfounded. She can't understand why she did it.
Whereupon the producer [Billy Rose they say] says: "That Freud sure knew what he was talking about, didn't he?"
Perhaps MR BK should consider directing LIGHT UP THE SKY at the Group Rep.
-

I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep and I'm going back to bed, but you want a DREAM?
-
First, I was doing an interview with podcaster/producer Julian Schlossberg. He kept saying there was a big wind in LA, and the table I was sitting behind kept moving and I kept saying, I just got up, I look like a big wind.
-
Then Adryan Russ told me there was a company that guarantees you get great sleep because they put you under and wake you up eight hours later - only a hundred bucks a day.
-
Unfortunately, I felt they could abuse it and you'd wake up as someone else. It seems in this dream we were at war with Japan and I was worried I'd wake up as Aldo Ray (I'm not making any of this up). Then I had a brilliant idea that we could put someone under and wake him up as Sessue Hayakawa and infiltrate and find out the enemy's plan.
-
DR John, Code Name: Pale Horse sounds interesting.
-
Then we were playing baseball and I was out in the field and was told if I stopped the ball the war would be over. I couldn't.
-
Then that switched to football and I was thinking if I could only catch the football and run with it, the war would be over.
-
Then ventriloquist Jay Johnson called me on my spoon but it was very hard to hear him because I didn't know which side of the spoon to speak into.
-
Then I woke up. I mean - really.

Last night I found the program where I sang with John McGlinn as a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. It was for a 1990 Boston Pops concert that was taped for Evening at Pops.
-
It was mostly vocal soloists, but the chorus joined in All the Things You Are. I think the women also joined in Falling in Love with Love. I thought there was one more number but I can't recognize it from the program; maybe there was an encore.
-
Lots of great soloists: Brent Barrett, Kim Criswell, Davis Gaines, Jason Graae, Cris Groenendaal, Judy Kaye, Rebecca Luke, and Paige O'Hara.
-
The thing is, I wasn't supposed to be there. They confused me with another tenor with the same last name. When they called me I told them that, but they said no, it was me. Then at the first rehearsal they had no music for the other tenor. They found some and we both sang the concert.
-
The BSO season had opened with the Berlioz Requiem. They needed more men, so they accepted me after auditioning me in a group of 16.
-
After the concert, there were solo auditions which I flunked because I really didn't know what I was doing; I had only been singing for 3 years or so. I was a good enough musician to get by in the ensemble audition, though.
-
They made us memorize the Berlioz Requiem, which I hadn't even heard before, and we had 3 weeks to do it. That's still the most difficult gig I've ever done. Especially trying to memorize the Offertorium, with its repeated-but-not-really patterns.
-
Ozawa conducted that one with Frank Lopardo as the tenor soloist.
-
They could do that with the TFC since it's all volunteer. The San Francisco Symphony Chorus is part union, part volunteer, so if they want memorization they have to pay for memorization rehearsals.
-
The thing is, I wasn't supposed to be there. They confused me with another tenor with the same last name. When they called me I told them that, but they said no, it was me. Then at the first rehearsal they had no music for the other tenor. They found some and we both sang the concert.
Oh my. It seems to have worked out well.
-
We are now back from Costco, where to our surprise they still have the cranberry walnut bread.
-
We now have two loaves in our freezer :)
-
There was one person checking out when we approached the line and three more carts in front of us. Someone totaled all of the remaining carts making the check out process super fast. That is the first time someone has done this when we were in line.
-
We didn't even wait to bag out stuff, just headed out and bagged it in the back of our SUV.
-

Oh my. It seems to have worked out well.
I would have felt guilty if I hadn't tried to let them know, or if the other (much better) tenor couldn't sing the concert. But it all worked out fine.
-
I got to see the broadcast but you couldn't see me, the shortest tenor in a chorus scrunched into the upstage left corner for one or two numbers. But it was a blast being there.
