Well, you've read the notes, the notes had salt on the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the salt on their feet cows come home.

And the word of the day is: GALORE!

Twelve pages - passed page 180 and currently sitting at just over 38,000 words.
-
Good morning, all.

The whole notes and avatar thing is weird because it's affecting everyone differently, at different times, and on different browsers.
In my case, I never lost the avatars until suddenly KevinH's wasn't there last night. Then early this morning I read the notes on the phone (they were fine on Safari but I'll have to clear the cache on Chrome because it wanted to take me to a Bad Place), and went I caught up on the posts, EVERYONE'S avatar was gone. Now I'm on the Mac, using Safari, and everything is normal ... BUT ... I just went back to view yesterday's posts and KevinH's avatar is still missing.
EDIT: Went to Chrome on the Mac to have a look, and the notes are fine, but on that browser MOST of the avatars are missing. Weird, weird, weird. I can't even imagine what it takes for the tech people to troubleshoot this stuff.

Per "Accu"Weather:
Today's high will be 22, real feel 6, tonight's low -5.
Friday, high of 17, real feel 8, low of -14.
Saturday, high of 19, real feel 11, low of 7.
Sunday, high of 20, real feel -1, low of 11. PLUS the threat of a nor'easter or at least a few inches of (you know).
Monday, it warms up to 31, real feel 23, low of 1.
Shall I go on? Looks like the days will reach the low 30s then, but the nights will continue to drop to around zero. Zilch. Nada. Not a degree in sight.

Good morning, all!

I am very very very tired today. The alarm rang at 5:45 and I had no urge to move or get out of bed. Annabelle settled the dilemma by crawling under the blankets to snuggle up next to me. When I decided to move, it was 7:15.

And the word of the day is: GALORE!
Ms. Galore was a Bond girl.

Good morning, all.

With a portion of my Encores! money, I purchased a new cat tree for the babies. Jen is comin g down later to assemble it for me. I will spend the day shredding papers. Unfortunately, I have a lot.
-
High of 67 today, then a high of 49 on Saturday. Mother Nature is having mood swings.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
And the work continues.
I saw everybody's avatar except DR RODZINSKI.
Time will tell.
-
It is a -9 degrees with a feels like of 1 degree.

Right now I see everyone's except DR Elmore's.

Good morning.

We did the grandparent duty every day this week -- taking Grandson to school and back home again, so Mama, who doesn't drive, didn't need to leave the house while she was sick. She sounded pretty rough on Monday, but by last night, she was feeling better. We wanted her to get rest.

Her friend (a naturalized citizen) was approached by ICE and they demanded to see her papers. She was in a hospital with a sick family member.

Waiting for the oil change place to open. It was supposed to open at 8:30. Fifteen minutes late.

I outdid myself in the big dream I had early this morning. It's impossible, as are most of them, to describe, but I created one of my more memorable "places" in this one. I'm trying to figure out what building in real life it was based on. There were actually two settings, this huge old urban building that was somebody's actual house, and a yard scene, like somebody's back yard, maybe a part of the same building. The dream is trying to reveal itself as we speak, and I hope I remember more of it as the day goes on.
-
I kept getting updates from my Trash Collection service. Usual day is Tuesday.
So on Tuesday I shoveled out a nice spot near the street for the trash can. The update said keep Tuesday out because they are running Tuesday on Wednesday.
Today I went out to bring the trash can back up the driveway....and indeed sometime yesterday they came by!

Maybe my missing document will show up the mail today.

Jrand, meanwhile, you're getting quite close to a lovely, almost round 99,000 millstone!
-
That's one of those car mileage millstones we like to photograph!
-
Does this mean DR Jrand75 has that kind of mileage on himself?
-
That's one of those car mileage millstones we like to photograph!
Wouldn't that be 99,999? :)

From DR Rodzinski,
OMG! Been unable to post here for days. Have to destroy my old bookmark for this page which was infected with bitcoin malware.
That sounds like a horrible mess to fix. Welcome back.

DR Singdaw I loved The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. I read it when it was first published.

It officially dropped to -8 degrees Fahrenheit at the Danbury Airport this morning, breaking the last record set in 2005.

I'm up, I'm up - only four and a half hours of sleep.
-
Up at seven-thirty and mostly futzing and finessing since, and then writing one new page and finishing the sequence I was in. I have to now go back and make an adjustment to a much earlier sequence before sending anything to Muse Margaret, which won't happen until morning anyway.
-
I'll try to write another page or two before the haircut.
-
I really should eat something rather than wait until one-thirty after the haircut, maybe eat around eleven-thirty, but I'm not really feeling like eating at the moment.
-
For some reason getting a haircut makes me feel smarter and funnier and better looking.....it brightens my whole day.
And I don't even have any hair.

Thanks DR FREDDIE I shall keep an eye on it.

You know how Republicans are so quick to accuse their opposition of being paid, paid protesters, paid insurrectionists, paid voters. Well, I saw on Facebook (the most reliable site in history /s) that someone was paying $50 to people willing to attend the Melania movie. Oy.

Good news for my state:
"The Washington Senate has passed the bill that would prohibit most law enforcement officers, including Federal Agents, from wearing masks while interacting with the public. It passed on a 30-19 margin.
What are your thoughts? To be enacted it needs to clear the House and the Governor sign it into Law, which will likely transpire."

Thanks. I will be happy when it is becomes the law, sometime in February if all goes well.

We had a nice long video chat with Craig. We got more detail on the ice out his way. I'm relieved to know that the sidewalks and main roads are safe, not that he is driving anywhere. He was able to walk to the hardware store for a shovel. At first he only had a hammer to chip away at the layers of ice surrounding his car. Then a mainenance worker lent him a metal shovel which was very helpful. Then three other people needed help. In total he was outside about four hours.
-
Craig does not have a designated parking spot. All he has done is backed his car up out of the spot and put it right back in. Until he needs to drive to work he isn't driving anywhere. Thank goodness he can walk to all the shops.
He has also been running his car for a bit every day to keep the battery good.
-
I deleted my bookmark in each browser, then came here again and saved them again as new. Same bookmark, just done again from scratch. Is that what was recommended?
-
Interesting DR JANE....continued vibes for Craig.
-
I may venture out to pick up a prescription tomorrow....time will tell.
-
Interesting DR JANE....continued vibes for Craig.
Thank you. He is fine, just sore muscles ;D I'm sorry you didn't have a nice neighbor you could ask for help.
-
One of the people he helped was also doing he work along with him so that was good.

Which car would you prefer to drive?

I sat on the couch at 2:00 and now it's 5:30 and I have no memory of ever falling asleep. I thought it was like thirty minutes later.

Better do some writing, although I did end a chapter and started a new one.

Good to hear that Craig can drive his car. As for me, there is so much snow and ice behind my car (it looks like more than there was the other day) that it's pretty hopeless.
-
There's a bus that goes to my local AMC theater and I was all set to take it but the sidewalks on my street (it's a busy 6 lane road) were not shoveled and I'd have to walk in the street in order to get to the bus stop. So, no go.
-
I think I'm going to splurge and take an Uber or Lyft tomorrow to see the appropriately titled "Send Help."
-
Thanks again, DRs George and Jane!

I had a fun evening at a banquet for donors to a museum. Got to pet a coral snake.
-
But during the dinner, I got word that my friend, Hudson Talbott, had died. Hudson wrote and illustrated books, some for children and some for adults. He did the illustrated Into the Woods that came out with the original production.
-
Hudson is one of a very few people I interviewed whom I stayed in touch with. Elmore is another.
-
When I first met Hudson, I discovered that we had gone to the same high school in Louisville, though we were both living in upstate New York at the time.
-
I have an original of his, actually a self-portrait, hanging in my living room.
-
Spielberg produced an animated film of one of his books, We’re Back! It’s about dinosaurs and, well, Spielberg botched the movie. The book had realistic dinosaurs; the movie made them cute.

That’s all for me tonight.

But this is a good thing to participate in:
No work, no school, no shopping: A general strike to protest ICE is attempting to go national (https://www.businessinsider.com/general-strike-ice-protest-minneapolis-2026-1)

I don't know the original play, and I'll confess that I've never seen the movie, but tonight's show was pretty good.
-
As the description said, the set and all the costumes are monochromatic and it all worked.

The only exception is that the doll was very red.
-
It wasn't until a few minutes after it was introduced that I realized that it was bright red when everything else was black, white, and gray.
