Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of a cue to cue and a run-through, and now it is time for you to post until the cued cows come home.

And that's a very nice set, BK.

More vibes for a modern major miracle for BK!
-
BK, nice photo of the set in the notes today!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I hope I can finish up "Something is coming to tea" today. Beynd that, I have nothing to report at the moment.
-
Good morning.
-
DR Singdaw, I fly to the board meetings, because they pick me up at the airport and motel. I drive to the conference, because they don't.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sunday. We continue our li'l thaw, another day around 40, I think.
-
Today, finally: the lights come off, the tree goes out, the bins get stored, and much vacuuming and cleanup ensues.
-
It is 22 degrees here and windy so we have a feels like of 5 degrees.
We also got a dusting of snow last night.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Nice photo of the set in the notes.
-
I slept, but I still feel tired.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Li'l Thaw is DR ChasSmith's rapper name.
-
In record shops now.
-
I am multi-tasking this morning. Posting here, filling out endless medical forms, doing laundry, and baking cookies.
-
So inactive that one has to lie down.
-
Oh, and listening to the new revival cast recording of Ragtime.
-
I fly to the board meetings, because they pick me up at the airport and motel. I drive to the conference, because they don't.
Thanks for clarifying, DR Laura. Does one of those offer intriguing carpet views more than the other?
-
Nice set, BK.

~~~CONTINUED MULTIPLE MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!
Hmm, I wonder whether we could get to Page 2 before 11 a.m. (Eastern)
-
But why wonder?
-
Why not just get there?
PAGE TWO!
-
The HHW clock says it's 11:03 a.m. (Eastern), but it's still before 11 a.m.
No, but the Phoenix airport has some nice tile.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.
-
Oh, and listening to the new revival cast recording of Ragtime.
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts, DR singdaw. I think they did a great job of capturing this cast's performances.
-
Happy Sunday to everyone!!! On the new episode of the Broadway Radio Show, I welcome back Barry Joseph, author of the wonderful Matching Minds with Sondheim, to talk about how Sondheim's lyrics & melodies reveal his true passion for puzzles and games. It's a fun and fascinating chat about this musical genius and a reminder to read Barry's entertaining book!
I do not understand why people like Coldstone Creamery. I have yet to find a flavor of ice cream I thought was good.
It is a good thing when I am not tempted to by ice cream :)
Finished my last bit of Encores! work. I don't know if Joshie has more for me or not.
DR Laura didn't need to rant, however, I have one.
The delivery service iHERB uses is rather bad. This morning they left the package at the front door of our office building. Anyone can easily walk off the street and steal packages from there.
-
After receiving a notification that the package had been delivered we searched for it, first looking outside our builing and then in front of all of the units on our floor. Then we drove over to the clubhouse to see if it was there. Not only was our package delivered there, a second package that belongs down the road was with my package.
-
Keith then searched for information on who it belonged to. Fortunately we happened to have his wife's email address and were able to let her know.
-
I liked the recording fine, DR MichaelG. I haven't listened to the original in so many years. It sounded to me like they included bits that weren't recorded on the original album. The performances were all fine, excepting Sarah, as I believe you have mentioned.
-
I don't think this Mother exceeded the original, either.
I remember the Phoenix airport from when my parents used to winter in Phoenix and I visited them (before their "winters" in Miami started). Loved that airport!
I don't remember if slick is the word I would use, I only remember that I didn't care for the texture as well as the flavor.
Four year's ago my brother asked to borrow our late father's Hoveround scooter for his wife. I said of course - but don't bring it back here I don't want it.
When his wife passed away - he brought it back.
So we struggled to put it back into the closet
-
The cedar pollen count went from a cataclysmic 18,700 yesterday to a mere nose-destroying 4,130 today.
-
Yesterday he called and asked to borrow it for his soon to be mother in law.
I said yes. We tried recharging it. I had it out of the closet before he got here.
The batteries are dead. He called and said his son was going to pick it up. Then he asked where the ramp was. I said I don't have it. But that Zane was going to need help because it is HEAVY.
-
I went to the dreaded back porch to see if the ramp was there - it is not.
I moved the hallway table and the folding screen in the bedroom and got the scooter down the hall and into the living room....but that's as far as I could get it.
Just waiting for Zane and whoever he can find to help him to get here.
-
Oh and she needs the machine because she fell and broke her wrist.
That's a new one on me.
-
The end.
-
Zane and his daughter Addison just came. They had gone by my sister Paula's house and got the ramp.
The Hoveround is gone!
-
The END
-
Oh and she needs the machine because she fell and broke her wrist.
That's a new one on me.
Is that for real?
-
That's what I was told.
I hope it's not her right hand because that's the chair arm where the controls are.
-
Yesterday I was watching what episodes of “Mary” that exist on YouTube. The Mary Tyler-Moore variety show flop. You only usually see this one bad musical number where David Letterman and Michael Keaton and crew are in a horribly cheesy dance number wearing football jerseys.
BUT… the surprise is while not all successful, it actually had the makings of a really funny show. It was attempting a kind of meta version of the Carol Burnett Show. Sketches that take place in Mary’s Hollywood house, on the old set of the MTM show, backstage, the cast meeting up “after the show.” Some of it sailed right above the live audience.
One of the 2 full episodes on there includes actual outtakes, reshoots, etc, so very fascinating. I expected a trainwreck, but found myself laughing.
Dick Shawn, who in one scene can flat-out dance, Letterman, Keaton, Swoosie Kurtz, Jim Hampton… it was destined not to work, but give it a view if you haven’t seen it. Tell me I’m crazy.
-
Unclear if the YouTube episodes ever even aired.
-
The Hoveround lives to fight another day, perhaps. You just know it will be back.
-
The above is not to be confused with the Mary Tyler Moore Hour which came in the wake of “Mary” flopping and leaned into the idea of the behind-the-scenes story within a story. Cannot vouch for that one.
-
I remember somewhat vividly Mary saying in a monologue that it was embarrassing to see her name everywhere, because regular people don't go to work and see a big sign that says "Herb!"
-
Dick Shawn, who in one scene can flat-out dance, Letterman, Keaton, Swoosie Kurtz, Jim Hampton… it was destined not to work, but give it a view if you haven’t seen it. Tell me I’m crazy.
This scene of Dick Shawn dancing somehow springs to mind.
LOL. We only told them where it was. It just took a bit of time to find out who they were. We never knew his name, only hers.
That was kind of him. Vibes you never need it.
Oh my. Did you brother have the ramp for his wife?
-
Oh and she needs the machine because she fell and broke her wrist.
That's a new one on me.
At first I was surprised, on second thought I'm wondering if her balance is off. If your arm is in a sling because of her wrist, or even difficult to move normally, it can affect your balance. I know this from personal experience.
-
Zane and his daughter Addison just came. They had gone by my sister Paula's house and got the ramp.
The Hoveround is gone!
Yay.
That's what I was told.
I hope it's not her right hand because that's the chair arm where the controls are.
I hope not.
I find his character one of the funniest parts of that film.
-
4 is now!
-
I don't think this Mother exceeded the original, either.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I don't know if anybody exceeded the original cast, but they all added their individual qualities and interpretations. I particularly liked Joshua Henry as Coalhouse and Brandon Uranowitz as Tateh. Everyone but Nichelle Lewis did a fine job.
-
I liked the recording fine, DR MichaelG. I haven't listened to the original in so many years. It sounded to me like they included bits that weren't recorded on the original album. The performances were all fine, excepting Sarah, as I believe you have mentioned.
I don't think there's anything they recorded that wasn't on the original Broadway album. More the other way around, as the OBC had more dialogue.
-
Judy Kahan is also part of the “Mary” cast. I found this enjoyable clip from an off-Broadway review she was in with Jane Curtin. “Pretzels.”
I’m watching the unaired pilot for The Carol Channing Show, which also has Richard Deacon in it. Parts are Lucille Ball farce funny. But jokes about the hungry homeless are not funny.
-
Carol is now a taxi dancer. Sweet Charity it ain’t.
-
Jerry Herman is credited with writing the instrumental theme song.
-
Now for something completely different: Jascha Heifetz and Joel McCrea in They Shall Have Music.
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
Jascha post 100!
-
Back from two run-throughs. First was sloppy and still had the sound issues.
-
Second was much better and sound issues have finally been fixed. Still some fumfering in the second half of act two, but not terrible.
-
I gave just a handful of strong notes but tempered with a lot of happy compliments.
-
They had Kentucky Fried Chicken - I remember when the chain hit LA and how it was all the rage and the best thing ever. Whatever it is now, it's pretty rank.
-
Just ordered some carbonara from the Cheesecake Factory - need a nice meal after this long, long weekend.
-
Karen Akers does a beautiful job with Not a Day Goes By
-
Thanks for the info on Ragtime, DR MichaelG. It's been so long since I've heard the original that some sections on the new recording seemed unfamiliar to me. But that's just me.
-
The freshly baked cookies are in the freezer, and the kitchen is cleaned up.
-
When you are working with granulated sugar, it seems to get everywhere.
-
Glad the show is slowly improving, BK.
-
Long day; tired.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four won't score.
-
Not with Eric Blore
-
Toujours l'amour.
-
Or Dorothy Lamour
.
-
For shore.
-
Five!
-
No more
-
Good night, all.
-
I will pass along any further updates DR JANE.
I would guess the first thing they need are new batteries.
-
I sort of remember the "Mary" show....perhaps I shall check it out.
-
Well....I can't say that I found either of those MARY episodes particularly funny.
I appreciate what they were trying to do but they needed some help. >:(
-
Page five.
-
Ridic.
-
I'd intended to write this evening but dozed off and now it's late - maybe a few pages after the notes, but tomorrow I definitely will write for at least four or five hours spread over the day and evening.
-
Damn them, damn them all to HELL.
-
You never can tell.
-
We're not doing well.
-
Let's ring the damn bell.
-
Let's get out of the shell.
-
Or I shall yell.
-
The farmer and the damn dell.
-
Page five - look how we fell.
-
We need to kvell.
-
And rain pell mell.
-
Let's quell.
-
And shampoo with Prell.
-
Let's not dwell.
-
It's beginning to smell.
-
Let's cast a spell.
-
Or get paid via Zelle.
-
Well, time to write some damn notes.
-
Where the HELL is everybody?
-
Not a holiday.
-
Power isn't out.
-
George ain't here.
-
Which is a little queer.
-
Oh dear, oh dear.
-
Page six we can cheer.
-
Have a beer.
-
Both far and near.
-
Wear something sheer.
-
Get it in gear.
-
Or people will jeer.
-
Or go to the pier.
-
Advance to the rear.
-
Or wear a brassiere.
-
Oh, and listening to the new revival cast recording of Ragtime.
I haven't ordered it yet, but I plan on getting the CD release. :)
