Well, you've read the notes, the notes were finessed and finished, and now it is time for you to post until the finessed and finished cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BELLWETHER!

-
Good morning, all!
-
Joshie brought me a lot of work yesterday, but I must do the laundry. So, I was up quite early, getting the cats and myself fed, and getting ready bto hit the basement.
-
Temperatures have risen, it's too warm in the apartment, and I slept poorly.
-
I'm looking forward to the Sherman Brothers album. I never heard the first release for various, and a few, reasons.
-
I shall return later.
-
And just like that it is 20 degrees.
-
We got a lot of wind, rain, thunder, and lightning last night - but no tornado.
-
Glad to read about ow the CD is progressing.
Looking forward to ALL of the new Kritzerland releases.
-
This morning I shall go to the getting place - in the dark so that I don't have to go any other day this week.
We shall see how that turns out.
I can't tell if there is any frost on the window, but my guess is yes. So it will take me a bit to get going.
-
I shall return to discuss the TOD.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Looking forward to ALL of the new Kritzerland releases.
DITTO!
-
~~~IMPORTANT ENVELOPE VIBES~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!
-
Back to work today.
-
Excellent notes about the CD's progress!
-
Current "feels like": -8
-
Excellent notes about the CD's progress!
It was fun to read about.
-
Good morning, all.
-
That is great news about upcoming releases.
-
We have some black ice out there, but it's a little bit foggy because the temperature is already at 41 degrees so the rest of the slick patches will be gone eventually. More arctic cold coming in this evening, though.
-
Good morning.
-
TOD: Not sure. I really don't want to be out driving with all the drinking people out. Lots of tourists in town now, and I have to drive right through the "entertainment district" to take daughter home.
-
If DR Laura is wrong, I don't want to be right.
-
Maybe we'll get nachos in the afternoon. Then we can both be home before dark.
-
We were talking about New Year's Day morning. When folks are hung over. Maybe chilaquiles.
-
TOD
I haven't gone out on New Year's Eve in ... wow, I dunno, I was going to say 20 years, but maybe longer ago than that.
In the 1990s I went into the city a few times, to various destinations with various people, and that was great fun, but I always took the train. Which was a special kind of fun in itself. Wouldn't do it any other way. (One of those times, the cars were so packed with merrymakers on the return trip that the conductor(s) didn't even TRY to collect tickets. Free ride.)
-
"And on earth, peace, good will toward men."
"And on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Right?
-
We used to have a soup-tasting party at my church. Everyone came, and we had a great time. We'd play games and go out and yell at midnight.
Attendance went down a few years ago, so they discontinued it.
-
I haven't made a cherpumple since, I don't think.
-
I have to run out today for a couple of quick things. It'll be my first time out since last Tuesday night. After today, I can probably avoid going out again for another three or four days, which is great.
-
Whew.....I have a feels like of 2 degrees.
Still warmer than DR singdaw's repor.
There was only a bit of frost at the bottom of the windscreen. So with the defrost on, that was gone by the time I hit the highway.
There was a bit of snow.....but the wind was brutal. I didn't know whether to hold on to my cart or my hat - I was in danger of losing both.
-
Then I got to The Dollar (25) Tree and the hours had changed. Now they don't open until 9 a.m.
It was only 8:30 a.m.
So I went to Meijer to get my juice.
-
Envelopes of importance vibes for MR BK.
Thanks for the link!
Which season of THE MORNING SHOW was that in?
-
I got five hours of straight, uninterrupted sleep last night. Winds were howling. And all of a sudden, it’s cold here.
Which season of THE MORNING SHOW was that in?
I’ve never seen the show.
-
Skip remembers that singing was at a fundraiser that Jennifer Aniston's character was holding at her home.
-
Still sending vibes into the world that Jennifer Aniston will consider a certain play about Frances Farmer whenever she decides to do a Broadway show.
-
From DR John,
Do they taste as bad as they look?
;D
I attempted to find the ingredients to see if they might taste better than they look. I didn't have any luck.
-
DR George, thanks for the congrats to Keith.
Watching “The Guilt Trip” with my sister here in West Seneca, NY, hoping the power doesn’t go out. A few inches of snow along with wind gusts up to 75 mph are predicted for this afternoon.
Topic of the Day: will probably go to either my mom's house or my sister's house, then be home LONG before midnight.
-
I'll definitely be awake at midnight, but I'll be in my room.
I need a nap, but I have started Sword of Doom and it’s really good.
"And on earth, peace, good will toward men."
"And on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Right?
Give me King James!
-
I will most likely be in bed by 8:00 on New Year's Eve. I have to be up at 4:45 to work on Encores! High Spirits.
-
I'll definitely be awake at midnight, but I'll be in my room.
-
Stirring from that nap.
-
It’s cold today. It’s 45 degrees, but in these winds up to 30 mph, it feels much colder.
-
It’s supposed to get up to 83 by Friday.
-
The last time I remember staying up to bring in the New Year was in 2000. It is possible we did it a few years after that.
-
Now we go to bed as usual. If I'm lucky I am asleep by midnight and not reading.
-
It’s cold today. It’s 45 degrees, but in these winds up to 30 mph, it feels much colder.
It would be much colder with those winds.
-
It’s supposed to get up to 83 by Friday.
That is a bit too warm for this time of year.
-
We do not have any plans to go out on New Year's Eve. I suppose that could change if we are asked to go for an early dinner with friends.
-
Back from another amazing meal at Capital Grill with Marshall Harvey. I had the gift card from Amy and Mark, of course. I'd requested my favorite server - Zoey - and we got her. She remembered my cap and name immediately. They have an item on the dinner menu not available at lunch, but she made it happen for us - a lump crab cocktail with a mustard sauce and we also got cocktail sauce. It was absolutely fantastic - I could just eat a couple of those and be happy. We both had the filet and it was just as good as the last time - incredible. I had creamed spinach, Marshall had sautéed spinach.
-
Stopped at the mail place and thankfully the important envelope was there - I'm sure the other one will be there by Wednesday. There was also a nice green envelope from the WGA - a small but nice Faculty residual.
-
And I got a small CD Baby residual as well.
-
No packages or anything.
-
But so far, a nice day.
Sword of Doom has lost some of its luster one hour in. The main character is too one-note. I keep wondering when he has time to cut or style his hair in between his eternal brooding and hacking dozens of opponents to death.
-
And his hair is fairly impressive.
-
Congrats on the residuals, BK.
-
Have a tray of candied almonds in the oven. They smell great.
-
Recommended for me today by Amazon: a dhoti. I guess because I have bought so many of them in the past.
They’re now fighting in the snow. But no blood.
Gratuitous post 99!
Sword of Doom post 100!
I'm wondering how my Goodreads book challenge shows I have read 138 books this year, yet my "stats" for the year shows 142 books. I suspect the higher number is including the books I did not complete and don't count in my challenge.
While I thing Goodreads is mostly great, I find it very annoying that I have to label a book "read" with a side option of "couldn't finish".
-
They do look good. I would have to pass. Today I am doing my best to stick to my low-inflammatory diet. I've been bad over the holidays, nothing compared to how I used to eat, yet my scalp pain is worse and that is scary.
-
Goodreads sent me an email with fun & interesting facts about my book challenge for the year. At the end of the stats it says I read 137 books. Hmmm, that is one less book from my office challenge page, and 5 less than the office stats page ::)
-
I am sure the office book challenge number of 138 is correct since I check everytime I mark a book "read" to be sure it has been added, or not added, whichever is appropriate.
-
Back to Altered States. Blair Brown is quite good, but Ken Russell and the movie are a mess. Why did Criterion like this?
-
William Hurt is especially bad. But I blame the director.
DR JANE that is a LOT of books.
-
Watching Astaire/Rogers on TCM....so wonderful and never been equaled.
Except that MR BKs recording of PICK YOURSELF UP is perfection.
-
On TCM DEMAND I watched YOU'RE A BIG BOY NOW which I loved even more than when I first saw it in the mid-60's. Music including The Lovin' Spoonful.
Then I looked star Peter Kastner up on Wiki....what a wild and sad life.
Highly recommended on TCM ONDEMAND by the likes of me if you've never seen it.
-
Another night in the teens temp wise.
-
Galileo tells me that it is 68 degrees in my house.
-
DR FREDDIE that would be great.....but it seems that plays about Frances Farmer are dead in the water.
-
In spite of her history and later years.....I love to watch Ginger Rogers movies from the 30's and 40's........
-
MONDAY
I have new respect for The Piccollino
Watching Return to Me. I just love this movie. It’s sweet and touching. And the scene where everyone sings and dances to At Long Last Love is so great and natural.
-
I wonder if desserts come with a side option of "couldn't finish."
Some people got it,
And make it pay-
Some people can't
Even give it away.
Oh, fer cute!
Good night, friends.
Peter Kastner and I worked together on a TV movie, bonded, and he and his wife became nice friends of ours for about a year - we had them for dinner, they had us for dinner. Then we never saw them again. Who knows?
-
Finished The Queen of Versailles. Making a musical out of that was as delusional as Mr. and Mrs. Siegel.
-
I thought the same. I found the Versailles documentary disgusting. Like Trump’s decorating choices.
-
I realized I have a few Powell-Pressburger films I need to watch. First up is I Know Where I’m Going.
-
Wendy Hiller is wonderful.
-
But it will have to wait.
-
Bed time approaches.
-
Not that I will get much sleep.
-
I wonder how much of my insomnia book will I read later.
-
I’m reading Loving by Henry Green.
-
It’s about the folks who work downstairs.
-
Sadly, the author doesn’t like proper comma use.
-
I keep wanting to copy edit each page.
-
I do the same with Cormac McCarthy, who never used quote marks.
-
That shouldn’t bother me, but it does.
Just like this page shouldn’t bother me.
BS I Love You was a Peter Kastner film I saw once.
-
No relation to film producer Elliott Kastner.
-
Or the Kasanetz-Katz Singing Orchestral Circus.
-
Finished The Queen of Versailles. Making a musical out of that was as delusional as Mr. and Mrs. Siegel.
Even better, the movie part is only the first act of the musical. The second part is what comes after, when they get bailed out and resume construction.
Or Andre Kostelanetz.
-
Or Nicholas Koster.
-
Or Alexei Kosygin.
Why does it have to literally be about a turkey? :o
-
It's like when Judy Collins sang "Send in the Clowns" on The Muppet Show and they had clowns dancing in the background. ::)
-
Still on page six?
-
Watching Return to Me. I just love this movie. It’s sweet and touching. And the scene where everyone sings and dances to At Long Last Love is so great and natural.
I love that movie! And it was directed by Bonnie Hunt. I really enjoyed her (sadly, short-lived) talk show and sitcom.
Most unseemly.
Seems suspicious.
Even vicious.
