Well, you've read the notes, the notes had tons of snot, and now it is time for you to post until the tons of snot cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DECOROUS!
-
Darn. We almost made it to Page Eight last night, but 'twas not to be. ::)

Feel Better vibes to BK

I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I had too many leg cramps last night, and I'm feeling a bit melancholic this morning.

Loved the cold remedy My Favorite Things lyric in the notes!

Anything specific, or about the state of the country?
-
This is a Encores! day. Once kitty cleanup is over, I'll spend the day working on that.

Nope. Just feeling old, I guess/

And yet you've been more accomplished these past two years than almost all people in the business decades younger.

Good morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I woke up at 5:50, turned the heat up a little, and went right back to bed. Two (count 'em) hours later I woke up again and got up. Now I couldn't be groggier.
More coffee!!
-
Good morning, gang.
-
I did have a lovely card from DR Elmore and family.
Thank you, sir, and I hope your day improves!
-
I hope my own improves, too. I need to wake the HELL up and be up for our closing performance tonight. Well, I do have the whole day for that.
-
Kitty cleanup is finished. As soon as I deal with the bed, I will get to my worktable.

To the annoyance of my neighbors, the holiday music has begun! DRs, what holiday recordings do you listen to most often? I think these are my choices:
Classical: Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Charles Mackerras
Folk: Joan Baez "Noël"
Choral: New York City Gay Men's Chorus
Show Music: Moonshine & Mistletoe
orchestral: Arthur Fiedler ad the Boston Pops
Vocal: Julie Andrews and Andre Previn
Compilation: BK's Christmas on Broadway

Saturday morning greetings! Sunny and cold in SW Ohio today - my favorite kind of winter day.
-
That makes me remember how sunny and cold were some of my favorite winter days in Chicagoland.
-
Since I was last here Richard and I finished up our Christmas shopping and celebrated Hanukkah by eating at Izzy’s. I also participated in both of my book clubs - one in person, one on Zoom - and baked shortbread cut-out Christmas cookies. We’ll decorate those tomorrow and take them with us to Illinois.
-
Shoestrings have been my favorite french fries since I was in high school. I mean that literally. I've never forgotten a moment of epiphany on that at some place we were taken to eat on a state contest/choral trip to Daytona Beach in the mid-1960s.
-
But any french fries cooked in beef tallow like in those very years are also my favorites, whatever their actual cut. So there you are.

This is a comedian who normally does adult (R-rated) comedy, and he did shirtless Menorah lightings this year :) - but for the third night, he uploaded a Hannukah candle lighting to the tune of "Go Go Go Joseph" from "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" - less than a minute and a lot of fun!
https://www.tiktok.com/@adamsankofficial/video/7584589862163041567
-
Hard to decide among my hundreds of Christmas albums, but I find I do listen to these a lot:
-
Ballet comedy:
Vienna State Opera, funny ballet. Слава Україні! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsRNDo8Upys)
-
Bruce, that is great that drinking water is helping the muscle contractions.
-
Probably posted before. I believe the choreography is by Jerome Robbins.
-
From DR John,
The Wordle word is a holiday word. To me, that’s why it was easy.
I mentioned to Keith those that go to church would find it easier, especially at this time of year.

I also participated in both of my book clubs - one in person, one on Zoom - and baked shortbread cut-out Christmas cookies. We’ll decorate those tomorrow and take them with us to Illinois.
Wow, you have been busy.
-
And Big Ass Salad.
Eat this and there isn't room for anything else ;)
-
With cold sandwiches I like chips and with hot sandwiches I like fries.
I like chips when they are fresh made, and then they are warm.
-
The best fresh fried chips were at the Santa Monica pier. It was a sad day for us when we went for our fries and the place was gone. Another one opened up. While very good, they were not great like the original place.
-
Be well vibes for Bruce and for all of us.
-
The Kingston Trio’s ‘Last Month of the Year’ is a family staple.
Fred Waring’s “Now Is the Caroling Season” also.

Jane, you've also got a Millstone coming up - 148,000 is six posts away.
-
And Rodzinski, your new Millstone is just 18 posts away.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost ten hours of sleep. Feeling a bit better this morning and hope it holds, at least through the session.
-
Having an English muffin and then pills.

TOD: Fries - as close to Belgian-style frites as possible - or onion rings for me.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost ten hours of sleep. Feeling a bit better this morning and hope it holds, at least through the session.
Sending more vibes for today's session!!!
-
I'm generally not a fan of Christmas music. I only have two holiday albums in my collection and I listen to them each year
Tracey Thorn: Tinsel and Lights
Jane Siberry: Child
-
Session and health vibes to bk!
-
Our local jazz station had an open house on Thursday evening. I've been listening to them since moving here 30 years ago but had never visited before. What fun!
-
When I left the open house, I tried to put the 2nd CD of Child into the car CD player. But it slipped through my hands and fell into the gap between my seat and the center compartment.
-
TOD: usually fries
Junior's has great steak fries (and they make a terrific burger)
But I like the skinny McDonald's fries a lot.
-
I can see where it is but have no great ideas for how to get it out. Maybe I'll try today when I have light, not just my phone flashlight.
-
I was scrolling through Youtube the other day and the history of The Coventry Carol came up. It's so beautiful and so sad.
-
While I was walking the other day, I put in my earbuds and set Spotify for The Coventry Carol. Then Spotify just continued with Christmas music.
-
I can see where it is but have no great ideas for how to get it out. Maybe I'll try today when I have light, not just my phone flashlight.
That happened to me with my ATM card not long ago. Daylight helped a lot!
-
After Coventry Carol, the Muppets singing The Twelve Days of Christmas came up. I thought that was an interesting choice. Then followed some Johny Cash, Julie Andrews, Elvis, Willie Nelson, fiddle music, Mormon Tabernacle Choir. An interesting mix.

DR Ginny, DR Laura's comment about the Coventry Carolt me thinking about John Arden's wonderful Christmas one-act, The Business of Good Government. Did you work with me on that? I think it may have been before you moved to Middletown.
-
Yes, DR Elmore, it was before my arrival in Middletown. But wasn’t Richard in it?
-
Congrats to DR JANE on her millstone.
-
Congrats to DR JANE on her millstone.
Thank you.
-
I watched Every Day Another Battle - or whatever it's called.
I know MR BK wrote about it a few weeks ago.
For me, it got better as it went along. The actors were all good - the only one I didn't like was the first woman - couldn't understand a word she said.....but everyone else was fine.
I also liked the scene with Leonardo D. when he was on hold with the terrorist organization.....LOL
-

He was indeed!

Topic of the Day: usually fries (sometimes garlic fries), or tots of the tater variety, if they are an option. I've also gotten cole slaw, or mashed potatoes and gravy, or potato salad, or macaroni salad, or a myriad of other items...but mostly either fries or tots.

I had that happen once with the ticket at a parking garage. I was aware of it slipping out of my hand. I looked and looked, but couldn’t find it. I had to pay the full rate, of course. Ver annoying. A few months later it turned up under the driver’s seat. Too late!

Less pressure without a date you need to meet.

How much notice do you need to give for your apartment?
-
I was thinking about taking my little Aerobed over there and spending the night. But rain is in the forecast most of next week and I can’t use the gym until I move in, and I missed the Parade of Boats (it was last Saturday), so there really isn’t much point. I’ll wait. I have plenty to do here, believe me.
-
How much notice do you need to give for your apartment?
30 days. I don’t think it needs to go from the 1st to the 1st, but I’m not sure.

Very good.

Little Ava was really prepared and got her solo Hushabye Mountain very quickly, just a couple of takes. Then we did the two kid duets - and I'm afraid her singing partner was not well enough prepared and I kept having to correct the wrong notes she was singing, which clearly meant she did not rehearse enough. Funnily, she sang the right notes when she didn't have someone singing opposite her. Same thing happened with her on the Teen Medley track - most of it was great, but then wrong notes galore for her and her singing partner. Eventually we got it and it will all comp fine.
-
Robert Yacko and Adrienne Stiefel did great.
-
Engineer wanted to comp right then, but I was fading fast - first day out and all, so I'm allowing him to comp using the notes I took and I'm sure he'll get it very close and I can then finesse.
-
I will say I feel much better today.
-
Minor coughing. Not too much blowing.

We shall see.
-
Not Too Much Blowing - that's the title of my next novel.
Possible Randy Vicar tale?
-
Tonight Ariana Grande & Cher on SNL.
-
We are going to have popcorn and watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang since it takes place in L.A. during Christmas.
-
I can see where it is but have no great ideas for how to get it out. Maybe I'll try today when I have light, not just my phone flashlight.
That happened to me with my ATM card not long ago. Daylight helped a lot!
It’s very scary when this happens to me with my or the kids’ IDs as we approach the international border.

So much for the drinking water cure for muscle contraction. My right hand was locked up for about thirty minutes. I was ready to stick my head in the oven.
-
Plus my voice is completely trashed, which I don't understand. Fine most of the week, fine when I got up - but after talking at the session, gone with the wind. I can barely get any sound out. This is all sooooo tiresome.
-
And not appreciated at this time of year.
-
I can't settle on a movie. I'll try again.

Do you think you might need to get to an emergency room?
-
I like coleslaw or baked beans with my burger at home

Congratulations to singdaw or his lofty new perch

Congratulations to Jane or her lofty new perch

I was running non stop today
-
I don’t think I’ve listened to any holiday music at all this season
-
Tomorrow Vixdad and I are planning to go to the city to ride a 1930s subway and to see A Prairie Home Companion Christmas at Town Hall

An excellent choice.
-
Sounds delightful, DR vixmom.
-
Glad the session went well, BK. Sorry about your voice.
-
Wonderful to see DR Jeanne and get an update.
-
Sure wish I could drop everything and fly out there for a few weeks to help with everything.
-
The Christmas party was a shadow of its former self. The food was surprisingly good. The music was good to start with, a big band sound with plenty of holiday tunes. The second bad, the Evolution of Pop, was less interesting; they did everything from Prince and Michael Jackson to Britney and Beyonce. They tried too hard.

Glad the session went well, BK. Sorry about your voice.
Ditto.
-
Must sleep.
-
Good night, all.
-
Thanks for the ballet information, DR elmore3003. I knew you'd know! :)
-
Uno mas.
-
Ocho!
-
We are having three friends for dinner on Monday night. One of them had a career as a caterer, so I'm feeling a little intimidated.
-
Today was planning the menu and digging up the recipes.
-
Tonight was the getting of the goods.
-
Tomorrow will be for whatever can be prepped ahead of time and working out a timeline for the meal so I don't forget anything.
-
I also grabbed all the ingredients to make peanut butter blossoms this coming week.
-
I grabbed the last three remaining bags of Hershey's Kisses on the shelf.
On another note, I was glad to find that I hadn't missed the boat on buying fresh cranberries. Was worried they might be gone.
-
You snooze, you lose! ;D
-
Thanks for the reminder about Brent Barrett's Christmas album - listening right now.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a guilty pleasure.
-
Miserable night. Thanks to the contractions could not get comfortable enough to watch anything - tried sleeping, but same deal. It's behaving right now. Nothing to be done but wait it out.
-

Yikes, I would think so! This is just a CD, I'm sure I could have found a replacement if I wound up breaking it while retrieving it.
-

A thin stick with some Scotch tape wrapped so that the sticky side is out, then carefully grab the CD with the sticky stick. :)
I was thinking of something like that, but with all the electronic controls underneath the seat it would be hard to get the CD and not something else. Fortunately my hand was able to grab it safely when the seat was all the way forward.
-
Plus I found one of my Georgia O'Keeffe Museum pencils - who knows how long it was under that seat, but pencils don't go bad!
-
New notes are written.
-
Best wishes that you're feeling better soon, bk, and can get some decent sleep.
-
I wasn't sure I'd be able to, the cramping is so disgusting.
-
But I did.
-
I'll take a hot shower and maybe that will relax the muscles in my hand.
-
Wonder if a warm compress would help. I’ve had my toes locking up lately.
-
I have gone through three boxes of Kleenex this week.
-
What helps is if I can just ignore it for ten minutes, it will usually go away. But the more it happens the harder it is to ignore.
-
It's a bore.
-
Feeling poor.
-
To the core.
-
At the fore.
-
Don't want anymore.
-
Hard to ignore.
-
I am BK, hear me roar.
-
A stranger on the shore.
-
Not feeling like Thor.
-
Oh, for the days of yore.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
