Penny O! I remember attending her one-woman show in NYC many moons ago. Happy Birthday to her.

It was the first time I’d heard the word “mishegas.”

Sorry to hear that, DR John G.

Warm weather with lots of wind and rain predicted for here.

Happy Birthday, PennyO.

I'll have to consider the TOD.

I decided last night to not turn on the alarm and sleep until I felt like getting up. By 6:30 I decided that I had slept enough.

Good morning, all.

Today I spend a little time ketchuping up on a couple of Christmas duties.
Time's a'wastin'!
-
I'll have to consider the TOD.
For the TOD, had the time travel movie about you and me in the 1980s been optioned, gone through rewrites, been financed, been filmed, and been promoted and released and well-reviewed this year, it might have been a contender.
-
We're getting that rain and wind tonight and through the day tomorrow, DR Jrand75.
Fortunately, it's out of here Saturday, or at least the rain, I think? It'll still be windy, but I really want to get my equipment out of the theeder Saturday night without it getting wet.

David Niven & Doris Day in Please Don't Eat the Daisies.
Doris Day & Rock Hudson in Send Me No Flowers
Doris Day & James Garner in Move Over, Darling

When I was in high school, I was a huge Ingmar Bergman fan, so when Scenes from a Marriage came on TV, I studied each episode harder than I did geometry. It’s still my favorite, in the TV edit or movie. Sarabande, its sequel, is up there too.

From DR John,
The hazard pay should go to the women. This particular child behaves when there are men around. If he gets upset around women, he gets physically aggressive. Yesterday, he struck the teacher I was helping out. Today, he hurt a woman sub, who had just started subbing again. I don’t know if she’ll continue with special ed after the first of the year.
This is very, very sad. I would not want to deal with this child, and women teachers should be avoided with him.

DR John, are you taking a test or supervising one?
I was taking a test for a probation officer position. I passed. I await word in January for the next round.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep, interrupted occasionally by tripe to the ool and by coughing fits.
-
Scratchy throat is gone. Coughing fits have arrived and the cold, which I'm sure it is, has done what all colds do - moved into the chest and nose. I'm hoping that by tomorrow that will start to abate.

I brought all my Christmas stuff back from the church party last week and am now putting it all away. Since no one is coming this year, no sense in putting any of it out.
-
I had put the tree in the living room to restring the lights. I'll leave that up and the lighted garland. So my house doesn't look completely Grinch-like from the outside.

The New York Times has a report on what looks like a possible London hit, the new PADDINGTON musical
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/17/arts/paddington-bear-musical.html
"He’s Only 4 Feet Tall, but Paddington Is London’s Biggest New Musical Star
Audiences are falling in love with the title character in “Paddington: The Musical.” Bringing such a beloved bear to the stage was “a huge responsibility,” the show’s director said."

I have been considering exploring nighttime hand splints, as I think I'm probably clenching my hands during the night.
But maybe they're more trouble than they're worth.

That does look tasty!
You can make them savory by rolling them up with meat and/or potatoes, or sweet with butter and cinnamon.

Now watching Pressure Point with Sidney Poitier and Bobby Darin. I haven’t seen it before. Has that Stanley Kramer touch.

Any good? I loved the play 40 years ago.
-
I saw Pressure Point at a sneak preview - Picwood Theatre - loved it. The director only made a handful of films but he had his own style - Hubert Cornfield. We released the soundtrack early on - Ernest Gold. Bobby Darin is quite excellent in it as is Poitier. Barry Gordon as young Bobby is great, too. Several years later, Cornfield would direct another one-off movie, Night of the Following Day, that, despite all the bad improve he allowed from Brando and Moreno, is also stylistically really interesting.
-
We still have a few Pressure Point CDs.
-
Thinking about soup or perhaps a small sandwich. Not in the mood for an English muffin. Was watching a 2025 movie but dozed off too many times. I want to wind back and watch it from the point that started happening.

Penny O! I remember attending her one-woman show in NYC many moons ago. Happy Birthday to her.
Years ago, of course, she brought her show to North Bend, Washington, and I drove all the way up there by my lonesome to see her show, which was quite good.
-
I can't remember if she gave me a poster or if I bought one, but I got one and she signed it to me:
-
I do need to take it out of the frame and recenter it...someday. ::)

;D
-
I also have her book, which she also autographed to me!

And yes, I DID buy the book!

Well, I figured out the mystery of me thinking that I couldn't hyperlink on my new phone. ::)
-
Simply put: operator error. Dopey me! ;)
-
The keyboard on my old phone types a slash ("/") when you hold down the letter t:
-
This was posted from my old phone.
-
But my new phone doesn't have a slash in the main keyboard, it has the backslash:
-
To get to the the forward slash, you have to go into, then get out of, a sub keyboard, which takes a couple of extra taps:
-
I didn't think about the forward-versus-back slashes, so I just used the backslash, which doesn't work (see Post #166 above). But NOW, I realize my mistake and can hyperlink to my heart's content! :D
-
Oh, and speaking of Motorola's StarTAC phone (I was, at some point recently), while looking for Penny's poster, I found the box to my StarTAC phone! :D
-
Here it is with the original box, a couple of replacement batteries (one never opened), and a couple of original (and proprietary :P ) power cables:
-
I remember being able to charge and power it up a few years ago, but it no longer is compatible with modern cell phone technology...and there's no phone number assigned to it.

I have no intention of getting rid of it.
