DR Jrand75, I believe the play you saw was Alan Ayckbourn's A Chorus of Disapproval. I've never read it, but I saw the movie adaptation with Jeremy Irons and Anthony Hopkins. The play within the play is not Brecht's Threepenny Opera but its 1728 inspration The Beggar's Opera.

And while I'm on that, let me recommend Peter Brook's wonderful film version with Sir Laurence Olivier, Dorothy Tutin, and Stanley Holloway, additional dialogue by Christopher Fry and music arranged by Arthur Bliss. From info in Benjamin Britten's collected letters, I gather the original intention was to use his 1948 score for The English Opera Group, but I suspect his wonderful, but very modern arrangements, scared off the production. The BBC video from 1963 is also interesting and well done.

Happy Sunday everyone!  On this week's Broadway Radio Show, I chat with writer/composer Zack Zadek about his new musical Deathless, the story of a family dealing with loss and grief, which also tackles thought-provoking questions about mortality.  If you could take one pill that would allow you to live forever, would you? Zack and I have a fascinating, uplifting conversation about how we live our lives and, of course, there's plenty of songs from the new studio cast recording of Deathless as well.

From Bruce,

Quote
These pills I take are amazing for fixing the double vision and speech issues, but they are really messing with my innards - I feel weird inside and it's just unpleasant. Worth it for the fixes and hopefully holding other problems at bay, and I think it may improve when I start to do the final thing they want me to do with the IV drip. That will be in January.

Bruce, if I wasn't already on pantoprazole (Protonix) my rheumatologist would have put me on it prednisone can cause stomach and gastrointestinal issues, including ulcers and internal bleeding.  You had issues before going on prednisone, add.

Maybe there is something your doctor can recommend you take that will help you that works with
Myasthenia Gravis.

Very interesting.  I looked at the photo with the gap again, and then looked at our cover.  Sure enough we have a gap as well.  Our cover was given to us by the condo staff to use, and is probably what most people here have.  If we ever need to replace it we will look at buying the bag.

We hosted Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people, 3 of whom were our grandchildren.  It was their first visit since we moved into this home 2 years ago.  They (and their parents, of course) stayed in a nearby Air B&B and we had a wonderful time with them Thursday and Friday.  They had planned to stay until Saturday, but left about 4:30 Friday in order to beat the snowpocalypse to Chicago.  They made it - whew!

Had a pulled pork sandwich from the usually reliable Boneyard Bistro. Bottom bun was soaking wet and couldn't even be picked up - AND completely burnt - black, baby, black. Top bun wasn't soaking wet but was also burned. The pulled pork, slaw, and sauce were fine. Baked beans were fine. Second pill was fine.

I watched a short clip from GORP. Well, there is an 8 minute sequence of clips on YouTube under the title “Worst scenes in movie history” although this seems to be many scenes from GORP. Though each of them, in their own way, could be among the worst scenes in movie history.
At no point could I comprehend what was happening.

BK didn’t get to go to theatrical productions with his folks except for a couple occasions, yet he was allowed to see movies freely. Growing up in a small, Indiana town, we had one movie theater, and our chance to see live theater was high school productions and a theater group that my dad eventually got involved with.
